Keep in mind
This is an overview of responsibilities, not a manufacturing method. Fireworks must never be made, dismantled or modified at home.
A regulated industry
PESO publishes the approvals and licensing framework under the Explosives Rules. Production is specialist, regulated work. A shop profile or an online article is not an approval to manufacture, possess, transport or sell fireworks.
The visual below groups broad industry activities. It does not describe a universal factory sequence or certify any listed business. Actual operations and responsibilities depend on the product, the approved premises and the applicable permissions.
- 1
Materials & planning
Approved inputs, product requirements and a licensed setting.
- 2
Manufacture & assembly
Specialist work under the applicable authorised process.
- 3
Checks & traceability
Product identification, quality controls and safety responsibilities.
- 4
Packaging & distribution
Clear product information and lawful handling through the supply chain.
Activities and their order vary by the approved operation. This is not a recipe, factory procedure or inspection certificate.
From inputs to a finished pack
At a general level, the industry involves materials and planning, manufacture and assembly, product checks, and packaging. These activities require trained people and the controls appropriate to the licensed operation. The details are not a home craft or a customer handling guide.
Quality and safety are not established by attractive packaging alone. Product identification and the manufacturer's information help distinguish the exact item from another with a similar picture or name. Customers should retain the original packaging and follow the product's instructions.
The route to the seller
A retail catalogue may contain products from several manufacturers or brands. Distribution and retail are separate roles from manufacture, so ‘sold in Santhai’ and ‘made by this shop’ are not interchangeable claims.
For customers, the useful questions are practical: Who made this exact product? What is in the pack? What current business and licence details can the seller provide? What terms would apply to any lawful offline arrangement? Do not assume ordinary parcel delivery or the marketplace's general-goods transport service is suitable for fireworks.
Why packaging and product identity matter
A finished pack carries the information a customer needs to distinguish the product and read its instructions. The manufacturer's name, full variant and stated contents provide a reference when speaking to a seller. Keep that information intact. A colourful image alone cannot tell you whether a product matches another catalogue row or suits a particular space.
Traceability means being able to connect the item you are discussing to the identifying details supplied with it. As a customer, you can preserve those details and ask about discrepancies. It does not mean you can certify a manufacturing process by looking at a box. If packaging is damaged or information is unclear, raise the issue with the seller rather than opening or attempting to repair the product.
Where the factory's role ends and the buyer's questions begin
Manufacturing, storage, distribution and retail each involve responsibilities that depend on the actual activity and applicable permissions. A general description of these stages is educational context, not a checklist for operating a factory. PESO's published framework is the appropriate starting reference for the regulatory system; a business needs advice relevant to its own premises and activities.
Customers can make a more useful enquiry by asking who manufactured the exact item, what its original pack contains and which business will answer questions about it. They should also check current local restrictions. Nothing about a factory's history or a seller's marketing establishes that a product may be used anywhere, at any time, or handled without its instructions.
Common questions
Does this article explain how to manufacture fireworks at home?
No. It describes broad industry roles and responsibilities. Fireworks must not be made, dismantled or modified at home; the PESO precautions explicitly warn against home manufacture.
Does a shop selling a product also manufacture it?
Not necessarily. A retail catalogue can include several manufacturers. Ask the shop to identify its role and the maker of the exact product you are enquiring about.
